I dedicate this beautiful flower bouquet, from Madrid Flowers, of exotic colourful calla lilies to all the fans and lovers of Georgia O'keeffe, and to those who appreciate the elegance and beauty in everything around them. Our unique bouquet of calla lilies comes wrapped in swaying luxury organza and satin fabrics. It can be an elegant love gift to send to someone special in Madrid, and when presented it will be admired for its high taste, elegance, and sense of style.
It reminds me of my favourite artist, Georgia O’keeffe. How she put all her passion into abstract flower paintings, and reflecting how a flower is as beautiful, and elegant as a lady, and how passionate as her. She was especially fond of exotic and oriental flowers, particularly on how they flare with zealous colours, how they spread out their petals, and how they swayed their elegant shapes.
Calla lily was one of her first flowers to paint, her favourite, and mostly noted of her work. It was contemporary in her time, and still is a timeless masterpiece in our times. She did a series of presentations of the calla lily, from different angles, taking a new path on how to image her subject, the flower, which was so avant garde then, and how she effected still life presentations in art afterwards. She was fascinated and effected by photography, as she lived at the turn of the 20th century. Her husband was the photographer Alfred Stieglitz.
Georgia O’keefe painted the calla lily like a beautiful dancer. How it turns away, and twists its long leafless stem high, and how the waxy petal cup opens ever so seductively. I don’t know, but I hear flamenco at the back of my mind when I see this flower over and over again. How about you?
